ABOUT

My name is Ingrid Ockert, although I also use ‘Ingrid Rocket’ upon occasion.

Born in Portland, Oregon, I grew up in bookstores, forests, and breweries. In 2018, I graduated with a doctoral degree from the History of Science Program at Princeton University.

Currently, I serve as the Communication and Outreach Specialist for the National Microbiome Data Collaborative. I advise the American Archive of Public Broadcasting. I also serve as the Online Content Manager for the Radio Preservation Task Force.

I am a proud member of the National Association of Science Writers and the Northern California Science Writers Association. My award-winning research has been supported by the Smithsonian’s Lemelson Center, the Science History Institute, NASA, and the Software and Information Industry Association.
